This tour will take us to the South West of Côte d’Ivoire to visit the Dan, Bétié, and Boulé peoples. The South West Region is uniquely a mountainous region, covering vast expanses of forest vegetation. A visit to the Dan, Bétié and Boulé peoples will permit the visitors to be impregnated to their cultures, share meals with them as is in the Ivoirians’ cultures and traditions and even to sleep together in a family setting. Several excursions shall be organized, which shall permit us to visit interesting attractions such as: The Lianas Bridge at Lieupleu, the weavers’ workshop at Man, the Yacouba Village, the Biankouman Village, the Mount Tonkpi which is the highest summit of the Man Mountains (altitude 1.189 m).

We shall also have the opportunity to participate in the traditions of the Bafing people and to experience their spectacular traditional dance which is done with the wearing of masks. We shall meet with the chief of the village, with whom we shall have a brief exchange before visiting the village and its sacred saline fish.

Day 1: Hexagon – Abidjan

– Arrival of visitors and welcome at the Felix Houphouët Boigny Abidjan Airport by our agents;
– Transfer to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Abidjan – Man

– Breakfast and transfer in the afternoon to the Félix Houphouët Boigny Airport of Abidjan by Air Côte d’Ivoire for Man, – Arrival at Man, welcome and transfer to hotel, then lunch,
– Departure for an excursion to the Lianas Bridge of Lieupleu, the most famous attraction of the region. The architecture, form and secret of construction, (which according to tradition must be built in a night), are jealously preserved by the inhabitants of this region, – Return, dinner at hotel and overnight.

Day 3: Man

– Breakfast and then start of trekking to the Dent of Man (881 m), the most remarkable natural edifice of the City Man, considered as the « City of 18 hills ». It is visible as from the interior of the city and gives a magical panoramic view of the city. It symbolizes alone all the tourist richness of Côte d’Ivoire. – Return to hotel in the afternoon, lunch and city tour, – Visit of the artisanal weavers of Man, – Visit the Yacouba habitats at the village of Biankouman, a typical traditional village, characterized by very ancient Yacouba habitats,
– Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Man

Mount Tonkpi – Breakfast and departure to encounter monkeys at the sacred forest of Mount Tonkpi, the highest summit of the Man mountains, it is being the second highest mountain in the country after Mount Nimba (1 752 m). Its culminate at an altitude of 1 189 meters and is endowed with beautiful pathways which are suitable for tracking and observation of the countryside as far as your eyes can see. The Governor’s palace is found at the summit of this mountain,
– Visit of the Man waterfall, – Return to hotel, lunch and take off for ascension of the Mount Tonkpi (1189 m) with a 4 X 4 vehicle, right up to the summit at the level of the Governor’s residence,

 – Return, dinner, and overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Man – Touba

Masque
– Breakfast and departure to experience the traditions of the Bafing people,
– Arrival Bafing village and welcome by the chief of the village,
– Organisation of traditional dance with the use of masks,
– Discovery of the village and its sacred fish and lunch at the village,
– Continuation to Touba, a village of blacksmiths, arrival, dinner and overnight at a hotel.

Day 6: Touba - Abidjan

– Breakfast and return to Abidjan by road via Daloa and Yamoussoukro,
– Several technical stopovers on the way and lunch at Daloa,
– Continuation to Yamoussoukro, brief city tour to visit the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Foundation created in 1973, (which is at the origin International Conference for Peace organised under the auspices of UNESCO), the Our Lady of Peace Basilica, the largest Christian religious building in the world and lastly the Crocodiles Lake at the border of the Presidential Palace,
– Continuation to Abidjan, arrival, and installation at hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Abidjan – Hexagon

– Breakfast and visit of the Civilisations Museum of Côte d’Ivoire, a State museum built in 1942 and made up of very rich and varied museum pieces estimated at more than 15 210 authentic pieces coming from all the regions of Côte d’Ivoire,
– Return to hotel, lunch and trip evaluation,
– Transfer to the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Airport for flight to the hexagon.
